The room felt a bit odd, and the lighting was really outdated. Breakfast wasn’t worth the price, especially with so many cute cafes nearby. The location is great, the decor and statues are interesting, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It was fine for one night, but I wouldn’t stay again. They also shut everything after 11pm without telling us, so we had to find the side entrance ourselves.

I can’t recommend Hotel Llegendes Girona after this stay. The room was in poor shape for a 4-star hotel: the bathroom door wouldn’t close properly, the shower leaked, and the overall quality was far below what I expected. The hotel acknowledged the problems at the time and offered a complimentary night, valid until May 2026. I emailed three times to book it for September 2025 and got no reply. It’s very disappointing when a hotel that promotes its service and quality won’t even answer emails. A goodwill offer doesn’t mean much if it isn’t honored, and this has left me with no confidence in their service.

I felt very safe traveling alone here. This quieter, charming part of the old town is still only minutes from dining, Las Ramblas, and Independence Plaza. You can walk to the main city area, and it’s about a 20mkn walk to the bus/train station, though the newer part of the city doesn’t have the same charm. The location is hard to beat, right in the heart of Girona’s old quarter and just steps from the cathedral, the Sept of Baelor for Game of Thrones fans, and other major sites. My room even looked out on the basilica tower.

The location worked especially well with luggage: we were in the historic center but near the river, so there were no steep streets to manage. The front desk was attentive beyond what we expected. When I realized I might have planned badly for getting to Barcelona Airport in time for a midday flight, the receptionist found a bus that would work and called us in the room to offer to book it. That was entirely her initiative, and we were grateful. There were other thoughtful touches too, like offering to wash our laundry for a small fee. We’ve stayed in hotels around the world and both felt this was among the best. The charming building is said to date back to 300 CE, and there’s an in-house museum plus a free digital book about Girona’s legends. It really shows a love of local history. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.
