Breakfast was a letdown, with cold eggs and bacon and items that should have been kept chilled left unrefrigerated. The bar also wasn't really available in the evening: after 8 p.m. there was nobody there to serve a drink. The room and bathroom were in poor shape. The coffee machine looked as if it hadn't been rinsed in weeks, the cups and curtains were dirty, and during our 9-night stay the sheets were never changed and the floor was never vacuumed. Cleaning seemed superficial. There was a constant sewer smell, mold and grime in the shower, and the towels were worn and stained. We arrived to find no towels at all, and only got pool towels and a bath mat several days later after insisting. The pool was freezing, and the loungers and their cushions stayed dirty and neglected for days. Check-in was just as disappointing: we were told there was no flexibility and that we couldn't check in before 3:00 pm, with no one showing us to our room or helping us find our way. The stay wasn't worth the money. The website pictures give a misleading impression of what the hotel offers.

We returned last summer after a nice stay there two years earlier, when staff shortages had already been an issue. This time the bathroom was dirty and neglected, and the fridge still had food left by previous guests. When we reported it, they looked the other way. They also made a mistake on our bill and told us to sort it out ourselves. NOT RECOMMENDED ANYMORE.

The amenities were good and the staff were friendly, but the way they dealt with my invoice problem left me very dissatisfied. I spotted charges for food and drinks I hadn't had, apparently left unpaid by other guests. The hotel then took the incorrect amount straight from my account without my consent. When I raised this, I was told to contact the third parties whose details they gave me and resolve it myself. I don't think the hotel should leave me to fix an error caused by its own internal processes. Since the matter is still unresolved, I've had to begin legal action to recover the charges. It's been a deeply disappointing experience, and I urge the hotel to address it promptly. I would appreciate a response and a proper resolution.

We went just for dinner, and the surprise menu was a hit with everyone, young and old. The meal was excellent and well worth the price. The restaurant is in an area with rather few good places to eat, so it's a great find. We liked the hotel too and wished we could have stayed a few days.

The restaurant really added to an already enjoyable stay. The food was very good, and they grow many of the ingredients right next to the hotel. The rooms were lovely and clean, the facilities were well kept, and the staff were friendly. Great hotel, and I'm looking forward to coming back.
