Almanzora Apartments

Scam, advertised on Fotocasa. I agreed with Francisco Javier Pallares Ayala to rent from May 14 to June 30 and waited for the contract while I was in my hometown. When I arrived, I paid one of the owner's employees, Jefferson, but no contract ever came. I never met Javier. He only sent voice messages from a number that had no service, through WhatsApp. The property wasn't the one in the ad: it was dusty, the door was in bad shape, and its flimsy locker lock seemed purely decorative. Two days later I said I'd leave at the end of the month so I had time to find somewhere else. He said he'd expected me to leave and that my reasons weren't valid, but offered a refund if I moved out within 24 hours. We arranged for his employee to collect the key, which was no use, and for Javier to transfer my money. It was difficult to get him to do it that day because he said he was working. On the day, Jefferson told me Mr. Francisco couldn't take the key and that we'd agreed to exchange the key and money another day. I messaged Javier, and we set a time and place for the next day. Early that morning he said he'd transferred the money, minus check-in, cleaning, laundry and four days' accommodation fees. No transfer ever arrived. He blocked me, so I couldn't contact him. I filed a criminal complaint for fraud, and his information was already mentioned in similar earlier complaints.
