Arc House Granada

The kitchen was spacious enough for us to have breakfast without disturbing anyone, and the wifi worked without issues. We slept well on a mattress that was just firm enough. The only noise we heard came from the street, not the other travelers. During the heat wave, the air conditioner in our room worked and made things much more bearable. My girlfriend was nervous about shared bathrooms, but they were clean and comfortable, with hot water working. The location is 10/10, within walking distance of the city center and well connected by public transport. The lively neighborhood has lots of local cafes, bars, and restaurants, ideal if you’ve had enough of the tourist district. Best hostel stay we’ve ever had, highly recommended! :)

The room had its own bathroom, but it was so cramped there wasn't space for a suitcase. The sink sat in the room, and the bathroom doors wouldn't shut. There was mold on the shower curtain and tiles, and a horrible smell throughout. Turning off the AC helped because it made the smell worse, but by then my allergies had started acting up. The shared kitchen was sticky and dirty, with just one fridge for two floors of rooms. I had to wash the dishes and cutlery before using them. There was only one hair dryer for the whole hotel, kept at reception, so you couldn't get one before 10 am or after 10 pm. At check-in we were told we could leave luggage after checkout. When we checked out, they said it cost 5 euros per item, unless we'd booked through booking.com and left a good review, in which case it was free. I know it's a budget hotel, but this place was just dirty. I don't recommend it.

The price was low, but the kitchen has no stove, so you can't cook there. The wifi also cuts out a lot.

The location worked well for us, with several supermarkets and restaurants nearby. It took about 10-15 minutes to walk into the city center and around 30 minutes to reach the Alhambra on foot. The receptionist was friendly and marked the important local details on a map for us. The room itself was bare bones, just a bed, table, and wardrobe. Coat hangers or a reading lamp would have been useful. The bathrooms were sometimes clean, though they got dirtier later in the evening. Toilets were small, and locks on several doors were broken. The kitchen had good equipment, but we spotted a cockroach on the floor beneath one of the tables. Maybe it had come in through the window, but it was still the worst part of our stay.
