Barcelo Granada Congress

Getting to the hotel we’d originally booked, Carmen, turned out to be difficult because of road restrictions and police blocking access to its street. We found The Congress Hotel, and the staff smoothly moved our booking from the Barcelo Carmen. The reception team were always smiling and ready to help, and I’m very grateful to them. The Congress Hotel was also easier to reach by car.

The pool is on the small side, but it’s a nice place to cool down after walking around the city. Breakfast was a huge spread, with food for all sorts of tastes and nationalities. The staff were polite and helpful, and the hotel was lovely. It’s around a 15-minute walk to the main area with bars and restaurants, and a bit farther to Alhambra. We enjoyed the walks, though anyone with mobility issues should keep that in mind. Taxis and the underground are convenient too.

This was our second stay at a Barcelo hotel, and we’re starting to feel loyal to the chain, which we hadn’t known about before. We came for New Year's eve 2025 and had a lovely time. Maria at reception, along with two gentlemen whose names I’ve forgotten, helped us figure out where to go that night, where to eat, and how to book taxis. They were all really kind and showed the hotel’s excellent service.

We stopped for one night before heading to Sierra Nevada to ski. The restaurant was great for us and our two kids, especially the amazing Paella. Juan Carlos, Ilyas and Patri were lovely, attentive waiters. Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. We’d definitely come back!
