Carmen De Ramilla

We loved the gorgeous garden and pool, and sitting in our little private courtyard at the end of the day. The apartment was delightful, with interesting Spanish features and everything needed to be comfortable. Isabel was welcoming and helpful. We had a very enjoyable stay.

We swam in the pool in April, and the lovely rose garden had seats for us to use. The apartment was spotless and well equipped for cooking for ourselves, and it was walkable to the city and the Sacromonte caves museum. Isabel, the concierge, helped at every turn, even taking our suitcases into reception early on arrival day. After we left, she went out of her way to look for something we’d misplaced. Huge thanks. Thoroughly recommend.

We couldn’t wait to return to Carmen de Ramilla, and this time brought the whole family, renting three rooms for a week. It’s our little bit of paradise, and we love getting immersed in local life. A beautiful oasis, just a tiny stroll from Granada’s sights. The location was perfect for our week. Step out the front door and you can head down the hill into the stunning city, up the hill to Albacin village, or straight behind the house for beautiful country walks in Sacromonte. The garden is beautiful, full of flowers, birdsong, fruit trees and secluded spots to eat. After a long day of sightseeing, it was lovely to plunge into the pool or just relax outside. This beautifully restored Carmen has so much character. Isabelle, the owner, spent 7yrs restoring the house wonderfully, and was a fantastic, faultless and helpful host. We’ll definitely come back for a third visit. We can never get enough of this beautiful place. Thank you, Isabelle.

Albaicin is such a lovely quarter to wander around, with its narrow car-free streets and plenty of nice places to eat and drink. Our downstairs apartment with the terrace was cosy and comfortable for three nights, and the pool was super even in October. A wonderful oasis in hot Granada.
