Crisol Guadalupe

The room smelled unpleasant when we first walked in, but opening the windows let in fresh air. The bed was cozy and comfortable, and the food was good. The location is perfect for visiting the alhambra. The receptionist was kind and friendly, gave us useful tips, and made us feel very welcome.

The breakfast was okay, with cereals, breads and a few other choices, but nothing fantastic. The hotel is by the entrance to the Alhambra, away from the hustle and bustle, and it’s about a 20-minute walk downhill to the center. There’s a hill to climb if you’re walking, but the middle of the three routes is a very pleasant path, wide and lined with trees and benches. We walked up and down a couple of times a day with the kids and barely noticed the hill. The staff were very helpful, and our spacious, comfortable rooms were clean. If you don’t mind walking or taking a taxi into town, it’s a gem. I’d definitely stay again.

I booked an April stay with Crisol guadalupe hotel in Granada AKA Eurostar on May 7th, but they never sent a confirmation email, so I couldn’t tell whether the reservation had gone through. I called the front desk to check, and no one could confirm it either. They’re holding the $114 I paid even though I didn’t stay there and still don’t know if I had a reservation. They seem sneaky and make cancelling difficult. BEWARE!

Our room had a lovely view of the Alhambra at night, and we needed less than five minutes to walk to Generalife, the main ticket pavilion. At 8:30am, we had the Jardin all to ourselves. How romantic 😊. The night manager and staff were super helpful, giving us tourist advice despite our very late check-in and check-out times. They were a big part of what made our Granada experience so beautiful. Thank you!
