ibis Granada

There isn’t much choice for eating nearby apart from the hotel, though the city centre has plenty. We felt safe walking back after an evening in town. The rooms were good, staff helpful, and breakfast was enough to get the day started. We stayed two nights to visit the Alhambra and found it easy to drive there, with plenty of parking, though the bus ride is longer. Parking at the hotel is underground and costs 7 Euros per night. A bus stop is a 10-minute walk away, and the ride into Granada centre costs 1.80.

Breakfast was a strong point, with lots of hot and cold choices, plus sparkling water. The room was compact, but the beds were very comfortable and the space was used well. Housekeeping did a great job, and everyone we met was friendly and helpful. Laura at reception gave us a warm welcome and extra pillows for our four-night stay. We hadn’t stayed at an Ibis for years and were pleasantly surprised from the start. We were there for a nearby festival, so the location worked perfectly; the town centre is also just a short taxi ride, about 10€ away. We’d definitely recommend it.

The breakfast was plentiful and good value, though the dining area gets too cramped at busy times to feel relaxing. The bright room had the essentials, but no safe or fridge, and the heating was excellent for our winter visit. Early check-in was good value, and we could leave our bags at reception. The staff were young, enthusiastic, and helpful. It’s a good option if you’re driving, near the ring road with cheap parking and often free street spaces. The centre is some way off, but buses run and a taxi costs less than parking there.

There’s a nice lounge area, a dedicated work space, an outdoor terrace, and even an outside swimming pool, though I didn’t get to use it. The staff were incredibly friendly, the breakfast was great, and the bar offers some food around the clock. I’ve stayed at plenty of Accor/Ibis hotels, and Ibis Granda is one of the best I’ve experienced despite the low price. You can tell the management is solid and the staff put real care into their work. There’s something special about the place. I’d highly recommend it and would gladly return.
