You can hear right through the walls. We could hear the neighbours having sex, and she really seemed to be enjoying it. The breakfast spot outside is a waste of money, with little choice and coffee that tastes industrial. There are plenty of other options nearby, some even closer, so I’d skip it.

The room was spacious, and for the money it was great value. We were on the street-facing first floor, but nights were still fairly quiet since the central location isn’t in a heavy nightlife area. Check-in service was great, and we chose their parking, which was easy to find. I only wish the bed had been larger.

The rooms are basic and on the small side, but clean, and I liked the decor. Wi-Fi was strong. We paid about £70 a night, which felt good for a couple of nights in Granada. It’s a 15-minute walk from the station, 10 minutes into town, and there are buses to different attractions. The receptionist, based in the hotel across the road, was very helpful when we arrived and gave us a map with places to see and good spots to eat. My only complaints were that there was no milk for the tea and coffee, and a small fridge would have been useful.

The room looked nothing like the hotel listing, and it was tiny and basic, with a minuscule bathroom. The lobby initially seems lovely, with mosaic tiles, a stylish seating area, and comfy sofas, but check-in happens at the scruffy hotel across the road. Then the elevator takes an age to go up just two floors. Nights were miserable: we heard a ticking noise and a rooftop generator switching on and off, while a green emergency light and the headboard lights stayed on all night. Add scratchy sheets and the most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept in, and it was easily one of our worst hotel stays. We paid far too much and were completely disappointed. I also can’t see how this counts as a hotel when it’s just a building full of bedrooms.
