Hotel Soho Boutique Granada

The location is the one good thing here. The building and facilities badly need a full renovation, and the service was worse. We felt the staff weren't honest with us. There was no air conditioning, and they said opening the window would cool the room, but it barely opens properly. By morning it was still 26.4 degrees Celsius, so we couldn't sleep comfortably. For the price and star rating, that was unacceptable. I can't recommend this hotel.

You can explore the centre on foot from here, and there's an easy bus to Alhambra. Reception staff were friendly and attentive, and the price was reasonable, but the rooms need serious maintenance. We moved rooms after the first night because the air conditioning thermostat didn't seem to control the temperature. It stayed at 22-23 degrees even when we set it several degrees lower, making for a sweaty, uncomfortable sleep. The second room was a more comfortable 21 degrees, though it faintly smelled of cigarettes. We suspect there isn't actual in-room cooling and the control only changes the fan, leaving each room dependent on the vents and the hotel's shared AC temperature. There was nowhere to hang hand towels, both showers had broken seals that flooded the floor, the chairs had alarming white stains, and the carpets were somewhat dirty. The location is excellent, but don't book if you need a cool room to sleep in, even in September.

The location was great, but the room had no heat and the water was barely lukewarm. Towels were thin and worn, and the carpet was stained and tired. The shower wand and its holder were broken. When we told staff, they gave us different answers but no solution.

The hotel is in an excellent location, but the rooms need work and the staff could be friendlier. We had an issue with our room and couldn't reach anyone at reception, either by phone or in person. It wasn't fixed, and we didn't get a restful night. The staff really need customer service training.
