The Lovers Boutique

I booked two nights in Granada for April 2024 about six months ahead as part of a carefully planned short trip through southern Spain. A few weeks before the stay, the host cancelled without giving a reason, at the last point they could withdraw without an Airbnb penalty. I first thought it was a mistake, but the host didn't respond to my messages on the platform. Airbnb only offered to help me book whatever alternative accommodation was still available a few weeks out. If that's the best they can do, I'll put my confidence elsewhere. I later saw that the last four reviews posted on Airbnb in February, March, April, and May 2024 were all one-star reviews. They were from guests whose bookings were cancelled on the arrival day, leaving them unable to get into the property. Imagine arriving to find that, especially on a tightly scheduled trip where activities are booked and paid for down to the hour. This had been happening since February. My booking was in April, two months later, and it was still happening in May 2024. Airbnb only allows reviews from the arrival day of a reservation, so people like me, cancelled before that date, couldn't post about our disappointment. Thanks to Google for letting me share this. I should have done it a year ago, like the other reviewer here.
