Casa Rozita

Expedia did acknowledge the problems and refunded us, but the owner's response to our complaint was disappointing. He said he'd never had these issues before, told us they were entirely our problem, and sent us to resolve it with Expedia. He offered no help or solution. The room was listed as a double, but the bed was much too narrow for two adults, so getting proper sleep was impossible. It was also uncomfortably cold, with no adequate way to adjust the temperature. Unfortunately, we can't recommend the accommodation.

We had a great five-day stay at Casa Rozita, so I don't understand some of the complaints. The room was tidy and clean, and the shared bathroom was clearly listed on Booking.com and the website. It's included in the price, while rooms with private bathrooms cost more. They changed our sheets and towels on day two. Breakfast was fresh and good, with bread straight from the oven and traditional Canarian food. Just remember this is a room in a Canarian home, not a 3-star hotel. There are pricier places at €130 a night with hotel-level service. If you want that kind of service, pay more and book a hotel instead of criticizing a modest room rental. An old, traditional Canarian house isn't automatically dirty, and this place still has affordable prices, simple service, and the charm of the beautiful island.

The breakfast was awful and served in dirty cups. There was only one small table and six chairs in the breakfast room, so anyone arriving later had to wait on their feet. The receptionist was rude, blaming us, then Booking.com, then the cleaner. We were given a squalid room that wasn't the one we'd booked, with a shared bathroom and no hot water. The bathroom was dirty, its bidet tap was broken, and the shower holder fell onto the floor. The bed was too small for two adults, the mattress sagged in the middle, and there were no hangers. The shutters wouldn't shut, and the door stuck on the floor so badly you had to push it with your shoulder to open it fully. There was no soundproofing between rooms, and we heard snoring all night. Parking is free because it's public, assuming you can find a space. I CANNOT RECOMMEND IT!!!!

Cristi deserves a 10. The girl who runs the place was absolutely delightful, so kind and attentive.
