Apartamentos Turisticos Mirayuste

The owner was charming and so helpful, ready to sort out anything we needed. The apartments were spotlessly clean and everything worked well. We had a wonderful terrace with stunning views. Parking was easy right outside the door, and a lift serves the different levels. It's a stroll into the centre, where parking is tricky.

Pablo made our late arrival at 9 pm easy. The building was locked, but the number to call was clearly displayed, and he arrived within a couple of minutes, cheerful and helpful. He asked what brought us to Guadalupe and gave us maps and walking guides. If you've walked eight miles and can't face going back, he's even happy for you to call from a neighboring town for a lift. The apartment exceeded our expectations: spotlessly clean, lively decor, a good size, and a balcony with a mountain view. It has a fantastic shower, shower gels, toothbrushes and razor kits, plus a grill, an oven, a microwave in one, a good hotplate, a large fridge and small freezer. There's plenty of free street parking and it's easy to reach from the main road. Shops, bars, the church and monastery are an easy ten-minute walk. There aren't many tourists, but locals are friendly, and the town has lots of local produce, including honey, pepper, ham and cheese. For vegetables, we'd recommend stopping at Carrefour in talvera Dr la Raina, just off the main road and not scary to drive to. There are also two reasonably sized local supermarkets, including Dia on the same street. If you like birds and wildlife, it's a great base for the mountains, with eagles and vultures, as well as Monfrague and other parks. We'll definitely stay here again.

Pablo welcomed us and checked us into the apartment. He pointed out how to get to Plaza De Santa Maria and showed us the local restaurants and supermarket. He also gave us a map of day walks from Guadalupe.
