The room was comfortable enough, but the old smoke and cigarette smell was so strong that we had to sleep with the air conditioning on. We hadn’t booked ahead, yet they found us a room. The bar and restaurant were nice, with good coffee and a lovely menu of the day. The staff really made the place.

For €42 for two twin beds, this was good value. The room was really clean, quiet at the back, and had a good heater. The woman at check-in was friendly. The beds were just fine and the bedside lights quite dim. One thing to know about the back rooms: they have no window to the outside, only one facing the hall.

We had a lovely chat in my basic Spanish with a local man, Pedro Gonzalez. The atmosphere was friendly, and the food was good quality for a very affordable price. A great place to eat.

A simple but nice Pilgrim Menu for €8.50, and I got a great night's sleep. I stayed here on the first day of my walk from Sevilla on the Camino Via de La Plata. The single room had its own bathroom and cost €25.
