Finca La Cuevona de Guitiriz

Pablo took such good care of us, even during a national power cut. The rooms are beautiful, the food was great, and the setting is lovely. It’s also close to the well-marked As Cruses option on the Camino. The village is a 15-minute walk away, with a nice spot by the river to have a beer.

We stayed for two nights so we could rest and recharge. I’d been here five years ago and was impressed by its quiet luxury. The ownership and name have changed since then, but it still stands out as a place to stay. It’s reasonably priced and just off the Camino del Norte. The shared spaces and rooms have handsome stone walls. Breakfast had cheeses, meats, cereal, toast, fruit, and baked goods, and it was a nice touch to have coffee and milk available around the clock. We had a fantastic salad and chicken lasagna the first evening, but dinner wasn’t available on the second. I think Pablo told us, but I didn’t understand him. Service was great otherwise. Hikers and cyclists should be prepared, as there are no food options nearby.

My mother stayed here for a night while walking the Camino Del Norte, and it was the best place we chose on the whole journey. The room was clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated, and check-in was flexible and easy. The hosts were very helpful. One of them wasn’t fluent in English, but made sure we had all the information we needed. Breakfast came with the stay, and they were happy to let us pack some food for the walk too. I’d highly recommend this place in the area. Thanks again for a wonderful stay, from the Malaysians.

It was very quiet at night, with no traffic noise, just the occasional dog barking. A car would be ideal, though we walked the Camino to get here and it is walkable. The town is pretty, too. The owner makes sous vide meals you can buy, so food in town wasn’t a worry for us. We had salmon and pork cheeks, both great. I paid a little extra for a pull-out couch along with the bed, and slept comfortably. Breakfast was included, with fruit, meats, and cheeses, which I liked. Great hotel, worth the money.
