The place was dirty when we arrived, and belongings from the previous tenant were still there. We landed in Lanzarote on Jan. 4, 2023, and had arranged to meet at the apartment around 2 o'clock. The key was already in the door. After I called the owner, a cleaner came and gave it a very quick clean. We reported the state of the apartment but heard nothing back. We also said there was no dish towel. The cleaner brought an old cloth instead. There was water leaking from condensation around the windows, with no ventilation system. It ran straight onto an electrical outlet, which felt very dangerous, and mold formed on the curtains in every bedroom. Our report about that was ignored too. The shower was another issue. As I understand it, the house has a 15-liter boiler for four people, and the water turned cold after just 2-3 minutes. We also reported that the parasol was broken. A replacement arrived two days before we left, but it had mold on it. We saw the owner three times, and he apologized four times, saying he would improve everything. That didn't help us during our stay, and he refused any courtesy. The only offer was to move to another apartment for one day, made after our children were already asleep. Other tenants were in that apartment the next day, so it wouldn't have been possible anyway. We were offered a 15% discount if we returned to Lanzarote, but that isn't an acceptable solution for us. An apology means little when nothing is done to make things better. Kind regards, Christian
