Finca La Fuentecilla

The whole thing felt sketchy. We had a September reservation when the host got in touch about an electrical problem they said they couldn't fix. They'd had 3 months, which seemed odd, though I understand things happen. What bothered me was being told they couldn't cancel the booking and that we had to do it ourselves. That was an outright lie. After I contacted Booking, they first changed their mind and said we'd be welcome, but a day later I received a cancellation. I can see where the comments about the host come from.

We really enjoyed this mesmerizing place. The house was authentic and super clean, and the hosts were warm and kind when they explained some local gems. The surroundings and views are fantastic. If you want a quiet holiday stay that’s still close to what you need, I’d really recommend it.

We stayed in La Casita with 2 adults and a baby, and it worked really well. Downstairs there’s a small kitchen, dining room and bathroom; upstairs, a sitting area connects to the bedroom. The old farm house also has a beautiful, very large shared garden with a pool. One thing to know is that it’s outside Haria, and the gravel road takes about 5 min to drive. Haría is among the cloudier, cooler parts of Lanzarote. Even in July we had a few drops of rain, and only swam in the pool twice during our five days.

The owner greeted us with a big smile, and the place was very clean. He’d left water, snacks and tea for our arrival, and would get us milk (leche) if we needed it. It’s a beautiful spot in the mountains and volcano. The bedroom and sitting room are upstairs, with the kitchen, shower room and toilet, plus a seating area, downstairs.
