Dogs have room to wander around, and with the gates locked you don't have to worry about them getting out. There's secure parking too, so the place feels safe. Each bungalow has its own barbecue, and we enjoyed grilling tasty local meat at the different spots around the property. The cabins themselves are really comfortable and warm, and the information we got was excellent.

The one good part was Segundo, the owner's father, who gave us the keys and was really friendly and attentive. The rest was awful, and I wouldn't recommend staying here if you want peace and quiet. We came to get away from Madrid's chaos, but the bungalows are so close together that you hear everything, like being in an apartment building. The ad calls the pool private, but it's a tiny pool shared by three bungalows. There was nothing provided, not even salt, sugar, coffee, or games. Dogs are allowed, but during our visit there were four dogs between the three bungalows, all crammed into an area barely half the size of a tennis court. You can imagine how that was.

We had a fairytale Christmas in these lovely wooden cabins. Nothing was missing, and the owners were delightful, always checking that we had what we needed. I'd happily come back a thousand times. A 10 out of 10 for them and for our time in Hernansancho. Highly recommend it.

The village is tiny and charming, and Ávila is only a short drive away. There's also a riding stable close enough to walk to, which we did, and we loved the horseback riding tour. We stayed over the May bank holiday, my husband, our three daughters, and me, and felt right at home. The bungalows had everything we needed. The owners were kind and attentive throughout, and we'll definitely come back.
