El Albergue de Herrera

The village is lovely, and the hotel is just as beautiful.

The bathroom was roomy, but it smelled bad. The room itself was clean, although the shared areas had cobwebs, which made it seem like they hadn't been cleaned in a while or hadn't been cleaned properly. There were ants, and the only windows were in the bathroom. The room had two narrow bunk beds, and you have to make your own bed. No towels either. I wouldn't recommend it. The price feels high, especially since two people pay the same as four.

The hostess was really attentive and friendly, gave great service, explained what there was to do nearby, and followed all the safety rules. It's a good private hostel, but €55 per person for a bunk with no breakfast, lunch, or dinner is far too much. Even with prices up because of the health emergency and high season, that feels like hotel pricing for hostel service. I just can't make sense of it.

I must have been very lucky to get a four-bed room to myself. Everything was clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was great, with a shower. Even though my room faced the road, the double-glazed window kept it quiet. I couldn't hear conversations or engines outside. In the courtyard, my car was parked under a huge, magnificent tree. The room service staff were helpful with all my questions, including about places beyond the hostel, like the Canal de Castilla and cinemas in Aguilar de Campoo. The Herrera de Pisuerga hostel was fantastic. Everything was perfect 👌😃
