If you’re arriving by bus, get off at Sabin Arana Kalea and walk to the lift opposite Javier Ugarte Plaza. From the top, it’s about 150m to the hotel, and this is by far the easiest way to arrive. The hotel is charming and sits on the central square in Hondarribia old town. Rooms are reasonably sized but sparsely furnished, though ours had a good-sized built-in wardrobe. The bed was very comfortable, and the ensuite was excellent, large and well equipped with a nice walk-in shower. Air conditioning worked well but was too loud to leave on overnight. WiFi was a bit flaky at times. Staff were very friendly and helpful, but reception hours are limited. There’s no breakfast, though the square has several options.

The city streets are all cobbled, so if you're bringing suitcases, a taxi is a must. The price feels high for the facilities, though it seems fair for a hotel with Hondarribia's best views. The rooms are cute, clean, and not cramped, and the bed is comfortable. Staff were very friendly and kind. I have almost no complaints, but the shower room is a little narrow and there’s no bathtub. I highly recommend this hotel.

The receptionist was very helpful, pointing us toward free street parking and offering suggestions for sightseeing. We loved our one-night stay at Hotel San Nikolas. Our room looked over the plaza, and having breakfast in the room with views of the bay was lovely. The hotel is clean and very cozy.

The rooms are cozy and nicely decorated, though quite small, and you might end up with a window facing the patio. The value isn’t ideal, especially for a room without a view. Still, the location in the middle of the historic center is amazing.
