I was just passing through town and stayed one night. The place turned out to be surprisingly convenient and comfortable. Sylvia, who works there, went out of her way to help me check in at an odd hour, and she was a pleasure to talk to.

I speak very little Spanish, so I was pretty nervous when I arrived. The manager, Danny, took me in and made me feel at home, and I slept like a baby. The café bar downstairs serves excellent coffee and draft beer. The service was friendly and the quality excellent. If you want an authentic Spanish hostel with friendly service, look no further!

The room was basic, with no drinking glass or water, and getting upstairs means using the stairs since there’s no lift. The shower setup was especially awkward: its holder points straight down at 90⁰, and a curtain is all that keeps water in the tub. An adjustable holder costs less than €1 where I’m from, so it’s a small thing that causes a lot of inconvenience. There’s a bar downstairs for tapas, and hopefully coffee too. It also handles reception and check-in. I’ll leave it at that, but it may be useful for other guests to know.

The location is perfect, and the hosts were helpful. The WiFi was a bit weak, and there are quite a few stairs. The bed could be more comfortable. For a B&B in the UK, those stars are well earned.

For the price, I thought it was fine. It has a slightly retro feel, but if you want somewhere more modern, you’ll have to pay more. I arrived with serious doubts after reading the complaints, but found it clean, centrally located, and the people who checked us in were nice enough. I don’t really get why everyone’s complaining.
