Hostal Masin

We arrived in February 2022 to find that not one restaurant on the island was open. The hotel itself was shut until 9 am the next day, nobody was there, and a local had handed over our room keys. This was after we'd been told in writing, following check-in, that the hotel wouldn't serve food after all but that restaurants on the island were open. We had booked through booking with an explicit mention that guests could get a menu at the hotel. Since the information had been wrong twice, I asked to cancel the room, but they refused. The interaction was very unpleasant, with no willingness to help or even understand our point of view. There were very few hotels on the island, and this was the only one open. I wouldn't recommend spending your money there. The customer service was the worst I've experienced.

For an island, the prices seemed fair and about what you'd expect. We had a nice lunch of burgers for 21€, with a large bottle of water and a Fanta to share. We didn't run into any of the problems other people mentioned.

We had Calamares a la Romana and really enjoyed them. The service was quick and the people were friendly, even though the place was very busy. You're seated along the island's main street, so the view is nice too. With that many people around, I wouldn't expect the staff to spend ages serving each table.

We only ate here during a day trip, we didn't stay. They were really knowledgeable and accommodating about gluten-free needs, and the food was delicious and very reasonably priced. I'd happily recommend eating here!
