Caserío de Fatas

We left El Caserio de Fatás with full hearts and already wanting to return. It’s more than somewhere to sleep, with the cozy feel, beautiful surroundings and genuine care from Kenny and Cindy all adding to the experience. We spent a delightful week in the picturesque village of Navasa, near Jaca in Aragon. Kenny and Cindy welcomed us so warmly that we felt like cherished guests from the start. They shared stories, made sure we had everything we needed, and their enthusiasm for hosting showed in the details. As keen hikers, we especially valued their knowledge of the Pyrenees. Their suggestions led us to lovely trails, hidden viewpoints and peaceful spots, and made our hikes memorable. The restored farmhouse has a lovely rustic feel, and our cozy room was a peaceful place to rest after being outdoors. Breakfast was varied and a great start to each day. On the evenings when we got to enjoy Cindy’s cooking, it was a real treat. Kenny’s restaurant suggestions also meant we had great dinners in the cozy town of Jaca on the other nights.

Cindy and Kenny, thanks for your enthusiasm, thoughtfulness, and lovely company. We had a beautiful, fun hiking week and felt completely at ease. The group was wonderful too, everyone could be themselves and we all connected really well. They’re keen hikers who know the area inside out and love sharing its best spots. It was very hot, so they flexibly adjusted the plan to suit the weather. Cindy’s cooking was excellent, often gluten-free, and the restaurants they picked were high quality.

The pool was cleaned every day, as were the rooms, and in the afternoon Kenny brought drinks and snacks out to the garden and pool. It was lovely to chat with the other guests about the walks and outings from that day. The sunny weather was a bonus, and we had a wonderful holiday, partly thanks to Cindy and Kenny. The food was a real highlight. Cindy and Kenny surprised us at breakfast with a homemade, healthy treat most mornings, and we looked forward to finding out what it was. Four evenings a week they served dinner with an aperitif, starter, main course and dessert. It was high quality, delicious, not too heavy, and healthy, with plenty of vegetables. On the other three nights they chose a restaurant for us in Jaca, so we didn’t have to search ourselves. We always came away thinking the B&B food was much better! Their enthusiasm for hiking really shows. They know the terrain and surrounding area, the difficulty of the routes, good swimming spots and even where to find the best parking. They offered advice and tailored routes to our experience, fitness and any injuries. Their genuine hospitality made us feel at home right away, and they were happy to answer any question or share what they knew.
