Hotel Jaqués

There are bars and restaurants nearby, and the hotel is great value. My room was clean and tidy, the aircon worked, and there was secure motorcycle parking in a ground-floor storage area. The staff were helpful and gave me a warm, friendly welcome. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

The restaurant food was superb, and the room was much larger than in more modern hotels. The price was very acceptable too. Parking a medium-sized vehicle in the garage was difficult. I had to shuffle around in the tight space, both to park and retrieve it, but managed without damaging the vehicle.

The owners were so nice about our last-minute cancellation, even though a cancellation fee applied. They let us keep the deposit to use for another stay in the same season. When we finally made it, they upgraded us to an apartment because our deposit was more than the cost of just over a weekend. Such an amazing gesture!

The breakfast was the weak point: it was served in a bare room with wooden tables and chairs, and there were no menus, so a waiter had to explain what was available. Not good. The rest was lovely, with generous, comfortable rooms and friendly, helpful staff. The tapas bar was terrific, with a good choice of beers.
