The room felt generally run-down. The bed sheets were dirty, the curtain rail looked close to coming loose, and the toilet wouldn’t flush properly. Breakfast was basic, with no eggs or dietary options. I wouldn’t come back.

The building is lovely, and the rooms are roomy, warm, and consistently clean. It’s an easy walk into town, even if you’re a little squiffy, though it isn’t right in the center. Parking was the main snag: there’s none, and the streets are busy, which seems to be an issue across the city.

The staff were kind and really helpful, and the rooms were very clean. You do have to make your own bed and sort out your own breakfast. Also, lots of the shops don’t understand English.

The rates are reasonable and the place is fine, but it doesn’t feel like a hostel. There’s no real shared-space atmosphere, and people don’t hang out in the common areas, so it’s not somewhere to meet other travelers.

Everything was clean, complete, and well organized, a perfect hostel. The only downside for me was the hard uphill bike ride to get there.
