Hotel Villa Naranjos

It's a nice, basic hotel in a great location. Staff can park for free on site, while guests have to look for limited street parking. Reception shouted at us for using the large staff car park by the entrance and told us to drive out and park on the street, 200 metres away.

The food was plentiful and there was a good range, but it wasn't hot enough. There was no way to reheat it, if that was even allowed. The lounge was closed because of restrictions, though I think they could have handled it better with limited, well-spaced seating. The pool was nice but its hours were too short, only 11am to 2pm. When the guard left, the pool was out of use, so there wasn't much chance of an afternoon swim. The gardens were well kept, the surroundings tidy, and the smoking area was adequate. The floor around the outside of the pool was uneven. I fell badly and hurt my hands, foot, and knee, but nobody offered first aid or recorded what happened. We had to go to the nearest pharmacy for a plaster. The noise at the back of the building was hard to put up with. Rubbish, including bottles, was collected around 2am, and deliveries came at all hours, day and night, with engines left running for a long time. We didn't get a good night's sleep all week.

I've been coming here for around twenty years and have never been disappointed. Everywhere is spotless, the staff are helpful, and the food is excellent. It's a SPANISH HOTEL, so anyone expecting chicken and chips every day may be disappointed. If you want real Spanish food and a huge choice at lunch and dinner, this is the place.

The rooms are simple and clean, a bit dated but still in good shape. It's not right on the beach, but you can walk there. Most of the guests seemed to be over 55. It might be paradise for older folks, with evening entertainment around the pool.
