After one night, we cut our stay short and looked for somewhere more suitable. We calmly explained why to the owner or manager, and their attitude changed completely afterward. Booking.com tried to reach the property about a possible goodwill gesture even though the booking was non-refundable, but got no reply. When we followed up ourselves, the property wouldn’t discuss it either. We’d booked based on the price and positive reviews, expecting a cozy, pleasant apartment in one of Jerez’s better areas. It was a very disappointing experience. The space feels more like a garage converted into a loft than an apartment, with basic decor and little comfort. The bed is only a few meters from the street, where passing cars bring constant noise and headlights through the night. On the kitchen side, there’s a garage, so you cook just centimeters from your car. The extractor doesn’t work properly, and smoke spreads through the whole space when you cook. Cleanliness was below an acceptable standard. The freezer was dirty, some pans weren’t clean, and the kitchen sponge was old and unhygienic. The heating unit is much too small for the space, and even with it running, the apartment stayed cold during our stay. The lighting is poorly designed too, leaving the place gloomy and depressing rather than warm or welcoming. This might work for people with very low expectations, but at this price there are much better options in Jerez. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone wanting comfort, warmth, or a pleasant atmosphere.
