Suites Alfonso X

The service alone would make me want to return. The young woman handling reception answered every WhatsApp right away, always kindly and ready to help. My spacious apartment, number 9, was just as impressive: a gorgeous suite in a traditional Spanish house with a courtyard, beautifully furnished and equipped for a long stay. It even had a full kitchen, espresso maker, toaster, microwave, coffee pods, olive oil and salt. I cooked ravioli one night and only needed to add what they’d provided. There were three street-facing windows, lovely towels and bedding, a separate bedroom with its own TV, and a huge bathroom with an equally huge open shower. I stayed two nights, but could easily imagine staying longer, especially for work in Jerez. The price felt fair and the location was very good. There’s street parking, plus an underground public garage three blocks away. Mercadona is about two blocks away, and there’s a bakery and plenty of cafes nearby for breakfast. Alfonso X Suites was so fantastic I’d give it more than five stars if I could. Loved it, really.

It looked a little worn, but it worked fine for a one-night stay. The shower head was low, probably better suited to shorter people.

The room on the second floor had a persistent mold smell. They seemed to cover it with an automatic fragrance in the bathroom, but that scent was very strong. I wouldn’t want to stay longer than a night with that smell, since it doesn’t seem healthy. Apart from that, it’s a nice, centrally located aparthotel with spacious rooms. Communication was easy and very friendly, and they offered to clean on day two of our three-night stay. The pool was nice, though it needs more loungers and bigger towels. The bed pillows weren’t great either. There’s also a garage at Plaza Madre de Dios nearby, and you can reserve a spot online.

Getting around was easy: the station and city center were only a few minutes away on foot, and the building was in a quiet part of town. The suites had access to a shared pool with complimentary towels, loungers, bean bags, and chairs. Our rooms were clean and well kept, with fresh towels every two days, and the staff made us feel welcome. The building had a modern feel while still keeping some character, and the suites were nicely decorated in a contemporary style. For the quality, the price was very reasonable. We enjoyed our holiday here and recommend considering Suites Alfonso X in Jerez de la Frontera.
