The layout is awkward even though the house has been renovated. The kitchen is on the second floor, while the two bedrooms are on the first and third, and the bathroom is downstairs. Its toilet cistern barely works. The other room has a very, very tiny toilet, and the stairs are extremely steep. The cleaning wasn't good either.

The location was a highlight, right in the old town among the city walls, though getting around the house meant constant stairs. That may be normal for this kind of building, but it wasn't comfortable. The decor has a rustic, old-fashioned look that photographs well. In person, the cleanliness was poor: dust covered everything we used, including glasses and pans, and there was a damp, musty smell throughout. Corners and stairs had old dirt, and the sofa could use a washable cover. There were also maintenance problems. Several things were broken or close to it, and in the upstairs bedroom some ceiling boards were broken, making it feel like something could fall through the roof. Checkout at 11 on Sunday made it hard to eat in town or go hiking. A 3 p.m. checkout would be reasonable if the house wasn't booked that night, though it costs €20 to stay later.

The photos look lovely, but I wouldn't recommend this house. It has four rooms spread over four floors, with very steep stairs and steps only 25 cm high, so you're constantly climbing. The kitchen and dining room are on the second floor, where there are no cabinets and dust everywhere. The first-floor bedroom has two beds but no bathroom, so you have to go downstairs. The ground-floor Jacuzzi is like a tiny cave, with a damp smell as soon as you open the door. Upstairs, the four-poster bed is fine, but its mattress makes you sink and slide to one side. The sofa is very old, and the tiny toilet and sink would be difficult for a larger person to use. Antique furniture is one thing, but this is just old and needs replacing. The stairs should be mentioned on the website or during booking.

It was lovely to hear the children playing safely in the alley and to enjoy the peaceful old town, but getting to the house with luggage and shopping was stressful. Parking is limited, so pack light; everything has to be carried up the floors. The price was good and transport links were good too. The accommodation is pet-friendly, and there was some animal hair. The sofa had lots of stains and didn't feel inviting, and the kitchen utensils we used needed washing again. The extractor fan was greasy, and hygiene overall fell short. This four-story house isn't a good fit for children or older people. The bathroom with the house's only bathtub and Jacuzzi is on the first floor. The main bedroom, with a double and single bed, is on the second floor and was cozy and comfortable. The kitchen is up on the third, and the other double bedroom is on the fourth, with a sink and toilet. That top room was very hot, though it has air conditioning. The air conditioner's water bottle was full when we arrived, left over from previous guests. We emptied it, although we never turned the unit on, but it sits beside an electrical outlet and should be moved or replaced with a proper system. The room's air conditioning helped with the heat, but we wouldn't have managed a week of all those stairs. The location only gets two stars from me because of access. We should have read the information more carefully, but I wish I'd seen a review like this beforehand. This is meant as constructive criticism, and I know everything was done in good faith.
