Camping Genal

The facilities were clean and new, and the 18,70 euro price seemed reasonable. We came in January with a small tent and were the only ones there; even the owners weren't on site, so it felt less idyllic. I can imagine this would be a really pretty campsite in another season.

The kids loved the clear river beside the campground. Our pitch had an electric socket and was covered, which made it shady and comfortable. The toilets and showers were very clean, too. We had an absolute ball here and will be back. Five stars.

The entrecotte I had for my main was tender, tasty, and cooked just right. We had a great meal, with a wide menu to choose from, generous portions, and very good service. Our starters were cleared and the main course arrived with barely a wait. I had a cold Al Hambro reserva beer with it, then coffee and a complimentary pacharan. A very happy camper. 😎

We arrived in low season, when evenings get pretty cold, and the shower water was freezing. There was mold all over the showers, and after 6 nobody was at reception to fix the problem. The receptionist wasn't helpful or friendly, never smiled, and couldn't even tell us where the showers were. When we asked about prices, she just handed us a leaflet to work them out ourselves. Save your money and the trip down there and go elsewhere. We didn't enjoy it at all.
