Bed & Breakfast Niagara

The stay was awful, and the service was just as bad. The room was old, cracked, and leaky, with a very uncomfortable bed and a shower floor so spongy it was unusable. Wi-Fi didn’t reach the rooms, there was no television, and the bedroom light didn’t work, only the bathroom light did. There was just one electrical outlet. The balcony faced a dilapidated house full of birds that sang all day. Noise came through from the bar downstairs and the other rooms. Nothing about the stay could have been worse.

We booked the €50 room without air conditioning, which was a big mistake. In the middle of August it was stifling, and we couldn’t sleep. The heating vents come up from the floor, adding to the heat. There were two separate beds and a shower curtain with slight damage. The window faced the hallway, so opening it meant people could see us sleeping. The interior is lovely and has an Andalusian feel, and the hostel is very central with free parking nearby. But the walls and ceiling were damp, and you could hear everything whenever people came and went. We couldn’t get breakfast because they open at 8:30, the place was still dark, and after waiting 10 minutes we had to eat elsewhere. I’d suggest paying €15 more for a room with air conditioning. Some renovations would help a lot, but as it is I wouldn’t recommend it.

Pep, the owner, is fantastic, and each of my visits has been great. I’ve come here several times from Asturias. It’s a lovely little guesthouse, nothing fancy, but just right for a few days at the beaches of L'Albir in Alicante. Greetings from Corina and Nel.

A lovely spot to unwind. The owner was especially kind to our son, and each room has artwork inspired by well-known films. Alfaz holds a well-known film festival every year, so movie fans might enjoy staying here.
