The kids loved playing on the beaches with sea snails and exploring the rocks, logs, and water around the house. We also really enjoyed the nearby trails and little calas. This old, roughly 130-year-old rustic Catalan home worked well for us, including the grandparents and children aged 10 months, 3 years, and 5 years. It has what you need, though you shouldn't expect certain comforts. The solar panels power it, so there's no microwave or washing machine, but that was fine for a week. We were seven adults and three kids, and eating inside was a bit crowded when the wind kept us from using the outdoor space. Still, we had a really great family week and enjoyed the awesome views.

The views were fantastic from every side, but the house was very dirty. We had to clean first: the shower was completely moldy and smelled awful, and the kitchen floor by the stove had a thick coating of grease. The beach was stony with no sand, despite the description, and a car is essential because the place is so isolated. It was also really noisy with the nearby highway and railway, and animals on the roof made it nearly impossible to sleep.

There's plenty of room for families or friends, and the sea is only a short distance away. Taragona is easy to reach by car. This house is a reminder that a vacation doesn't need any frills.

You get a lovely sense of calm here, with spectacular views and beautiful beaches nearby. All the usual amenities are close, and the GR is just 50 meters away. It feels like a little paradise.
