Europa Apartments

The apartment had three bedrooms and two bathrooms, so at least there was space. That was the only redeeming part of a stay that was advertised as luxury but turned into a nightmare. We arrived close to midnight and discovered check-in was at a separate location, a 30-minute drive away. Then we had to drive another 30 minutes back to the property. Parking was also a mess: there was never any street parking. We were willing to pay for the garage, but the host was absent for two of our three days, so we ended up parking at a different complex ten minutes away. We barely slept. The neighborhood was loud, the walls were paper-thin, and the A/C barely worked. We slept without blankets, sometimes without clothes, just to stay cool. Mosquitoes ate us alive every night, with no repellent or window screens. The couch was stained, the beds thin, and each person had one sad pillow. They seemed determined to keep the deposit. Forget to take out your own trash, leave the dishwasher unloaded, or get a neighbor's noise complaint even when you aren't having a party, and the deposit is gone. We also saw drug activity just feet from the building. It didn't feel like a place you'd want to walk around at night. There were no face or hand towels, just cheap soap, no bottled water, iron, or robes, nothing to support the luxury label. Worst of all, we found roaches at 2 a.m. on our last night. Thankfully they hadn't shown up earlier, but they're clearly there.

Dama at reception made us feel welcome and let us check in early, which we really appreciated after the journey. The staff kept everything in great order, and the apartment was clean, well equipped, and had all we needed for a comfortable stay. We'd happily come back to Europa Barcelona Apartment.

We spent a comfortable week here and found the service friendly. The apartments matched the photos, and when we had trouble with the Hola City Card, we got help right away. It’s a handy base for exploring the city, with buses and the metro nearby. Come and enjoy.

The staff were friendly, helpful, and spoke good English, and getting around was easy thanks to the public transport links. There’s also a supermarket and a new shopping mall nearby, in clean, safe surroundings. We stayed eight days and found the apartment new, very clean, spacious, and relaxing. For a family, I’d much prefer this to spending the nights in a hotel. If we return to Barcelona, this will be my first choice. Excellent, one of the best. Highly recommended.
