Posada de Villa Maria

The place was clean and sits right in the town center, in an old mansion. Our room felt a bit creepy, with its very old, gloomy look.

The restaurant feels cold and uninviting, and in mid-January there was no heating at all. The makeshift camping-style tables had paper tablecloths, some lamps were burned out and didn't match, and a microwave and air conditioning unit sat beside one of the tables. All that took away from what little charm the interior had. The outside is beautiful, but inside the decor leaves a lot to be desired. The food wasn't anything special for the quality and price, in my opinion. 🙄

The service was excellent, everyone was very polite, and the portions felt fair for the price. We found the quality-price ratio fantastic, and felt comfortable and at ease. We booked ahead, and the place really does get busy. The dining room and lounge appealed to us, though it was warm inside. It looked good from outside; the terrace wasn't open because it was cool out, but seems like it would be great in summer. Everything was very clean. We came for a weekend getaway on a recommendation and would highly recommend it for lunch or dinner. We didn't stay there, so I can't speak to the accommodation.

My husband and I arrived Friday and stayed through Sunday. We were only passing through and booked at the last minute, but it turned out to be the best choice we could have made. The room was just right for size and cleanliness, and we loved its decor. The staff were outstanding. We'd definitely return, highly recommended.
