Hostal San Blas

The beds were comfortable, the place was clean, and the shower had plenty of hot water. Wi-Fi was good, too. We could park right outside, then walk easily into the lovely historic village.

The lovely setting is the main thing this place has going for it. The rooms themselves are nice and very clean, but there’s no elevator or luggage stairlift. The owner or manager wasn’t very helpful to guests, many of whom are elderly. The bar service was poor, and breakfast costs extra. The staff left a lot to be desired.

Very good value, and I’m especially grateful to the owner. I’d left some luggage on the street beside the hostel door when I checked out. He kept it safe and packed it up for me while I arranged for the post office to collect it from the hostel.

My wife and I stayed five nights and had a wonderful time, like kids. The hotel is in just the right place, with plenty of parking, and the owners are good people. Breakfast doesn’t offer much choice, but it’s steady, and the cafeteria opens at 8, which is handy if you’re heading out for routes and hikes. A big hug and cheers to all the workers and owners.
