Hospederia Gemma

Gemma was incredibly welcoming and friendly, and my family and I felt comfortable and at ease throughout our stay. The guesthouse is spotless and so carefully maintained. We especially liked the garden terrace with its chill-out area and lovely porch, a treat for all the senses. It’s set in a beautiful, peaceful place to unwind, and there’s free parking.

After driving all night from Valencia to Segovia, I went to reception in person at 11:00 PM to ask about a room for Saturday night into Sunday morning. The woman greeted me, said there were rooms available, then changed her answer when I mentioned my 18-month-old daughter. She refused without explaining why. I deserved at least an explanation for first being told yes and then being turned away just because I had a child.

The owner is wonderful, warm, and down-to-earth, even if she may not come across that way at first. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated, with attention to every detail. There are large gardens and parking, and it’s close to a shopping area, just ten minutes from the aqueduct. A very welcoming place, and I recommend it to everyone. You won’t regret it.

The place is clean and very well maintained, but I found it expensive for what you get. My room was small and had two beds, so I’d rate the quality at three stars.
