Hotel Venta Magullo

The restaurant food was fantastic, honestly some of the best we had during our five-week holiday in Spain. The staff were lovely, and the room was very clean and comfortable.

I had a great few days here. For the price, especially the fantastic off-season rates, my single room was a 10/10. It was cozy and clean, with Wi-Fi, AC, a TV, a balcony, and hot water without end. I'd definitely come back. It's on the outskirts of Segovia in a quiet neighborhood, with supermarkets, clothing and home decor stores, home supplies, and Chinese bazaars nearby. There are loads of parking spaces. The hotel's own restaurant was always buzzing with people having a good time. The interior is a bit dated, but I didn't really care. The room had almost everything needed for a wonderful stay, and the old city was a 10-minute drive away. I drove to the old city's public parking lot a few times a day. It was an easy drive and much more comfortable than staying in the older parts of town with no parking. Totally recommended.

We paid 85 € for a weekend, and it really wasn't worth it. The room's emergency light was so bright at night that we couldn't rest, and it bothered us the whole time. The curtain didn't cover the window properly either, so sunrise brought in a lot of light. When we arrived at 10 pm, there was a wedding celebration on the ground-floor terrace. From our first-floor room, the guests were very loud, and the aisle was noisy too. You could hear everything from other rooms and the corridor. I woke up several times to loud banging next door.

The food and service made for one of those memorable meals, and it's a way-above-average restaurant. I'll definitely return next time I'm in Segovia. It's worth taking a taxi, or walking 30 minutes from the aqueduct, instead of trying one of the downtown places that are too touristy.
