Aparthotel Villas La Manga

There were cockroaches in the room. When I asked about getting a refund, the receptionist was rude and told me they’d contact me through booking, but they haven’t answered any of my messages. I know the problem may have been hard to fix on the spot, but I would have appreciated some understanding or empathy, and got neither. I can’t recommend it.

I picked this place because it’s close to the Lagoon, which was fantastic for paddle boarding. The water was crystal clear, so falling off the board wasn’t a problem. It’s also central for local amenities, and the transfer from Murcia Airport took 45 minutes. The Villas were spotless, the staff were polite and friendly, and the pool and gardens were kept to a very high standard. One of my favorite places to stay. I’d recommend it and can’t wait to come back.

The gardens and pool are pristine and well cared for, and inside is pleasantly better than the exterior. Outside, the facade could use a refresh: the paint is peeling and lots of tiles are chipped or broken. It may be that the outside cleanup is due in the off-season. The place is clean, spacious enough, and central, close to most restaurants that stay open off-season. Check around for good-value nightly rates. I had a very pleasant stay and slept well.

The staff at reception were helpful and very service minded. We had an issue with the washing machine, but they fixed it in less than 30 minutes. The rooms were clean and everything worked, though the room itself felt a bit dated. Breakfast was fresh but a little too simple. The garden and pool area was great, tidy, and very nice, and the location is right in the middle of La Manga. It’s not a five-star hotel, but it’s clean, fresh, and very good value for money.
