Apartamentos y Villas Galera Beach

We spent our Christmas vacation between the beach front apartment and the villa. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of Corralejo and close to the beach, shops, and restaurants. The two-bedroom apartment has a great beach front deck, though it felt a bit tight for our group of 5. The villa was more comfortable, with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, much more space, a private pool, and a back yard, but it meant giving up the beach front aspect. There’s also a small shared pool in the resort. This is a no-frills property without things like shampoo or paper towels. Still, for the affordable price and excellent location, I’d recommend it as a family beach home for a week.

The little pool worked really well for our four, and the villa has everything you need right by the beach. After a night out, walking back from town along the sand was such a lovely way to finish. The pool attendant came around about four times and was discreet, and the maid service was spot on. We loved it so much that we’re definitely coming back, even though we’ve never returned to the same place before.

We stayed four nights and found the staff really friendly and accommodating. The apartment is spacious and was perfectly good for me, though it’s not exactly luxurious. There’s a sea view, and the location is excellent. Just be aware there’s a bar right below with live music, which could bother some people. I’d recommend it.

The cockroaches were the other big problem. We thought one or two might happen, but we saw seven or eight during our stay. Staff said it was just one of those things, but that many felt like too much. Our apartment was beside the kitchens for the beach bar, which made us question how clean they were. We hadn’t eaten there, and we avoided it after that. The bar also seemed to be one of the most expensive on the beach. Showers were the first major issue. We only had acceptable pressure for two days; the rest of the time it was extremely low, and one evening there was no shower at all. We had to use the cold poolside shower. We asked several times for this to be fixed, but they didn’t seem able to sort it out. It may have been an ongoing problem, and perhaps they should have brought in a specialist. The on-site staff were good, but the way clients were treated left me giving the place a poor rating. We emailed them directly with our concerns and asked for some kind of gesture, but they ignored us. I tried to keep faith in them as a business, but it seems they simply don’t care. People should know how they operate. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, especially with plenty of nice alternative accommodation available.
