Caleta del Mar

We spent three lovely, restful weeks here and can’t wait to come back. The hotel is very quiet, with barely any noise after 11pm, and it’s right by a beautiful protected beach area. The whole place is spotlessly clean, and everyone works hard to keep it that way. Our spacious bedroom was very clean too, and the beds were exceptionally comfortable. Pepi gave us a friendly, professional welcome, and both Pepi and Mohammed went out of their way to help throughout our stay. The breakfast had a good range of food, and the breakfast team were warm and helpful. The cleaning staff were fantastic as well. For local shops, allow at least a 20-minute walk, and town is about 30 minutes away. Taxis are readily available, 5 euros to El Campanario or 8 euros to central Corralejo. We had an amazing relaxing holiday. Highly recommend the hotel, and thanks to all the staff.

It’s a quiet place, more like a B&B, where you head out in the morning, return to get ready for dinner, then come back to sleep. Most of the staff were pleasant. The rooms are spacious and nice, cleaned daily, and smell fresh when you walk in. Towels are replaced each day, though the sheets aren’t changed. There were water bottles in the fridge on arrival, but they weren’t replenished. The two dental kits, two shower kits, and one shaving kit were a nice touch for a three-star hotel. Netflix on the TV was handy. Breakfast is buffet only, with a decent selection and fresh food. The pool is cleaned daily, but it’s very cold, and I couldn’t stay in for more than a minute. There are missing tiles and some grime around the edges and steps, so it needs maintenance and could be a safety concern. The advertised pool bar was never open; for food or a drink you have to go around to the cafe by reception, where prices are a little higher than in town. Getting to the main town takes 20-30 minutes on foot, which was fine for us but less convenient if you have mobility issues. There’s a bus stop two minutes away, with buses every half hour, and taxis pass fairly often. The beach area with loungers is another 30-minute walk. If you enjoy hiking, the seafront and dunes are lovely to walk along.

The views are amazing, and it’s lovely and peaceful. You can walk straight over to the dunes and find a quiet spot on the beach. The main resort is walkable too, though a taxi costs about €6. Reception were very friendly, and breakfast was good value with plenty of choice. My only service gripe was carrying our suitcases up and down the apartment stairs. I’d have gladly tipped a concierge to handle them.

We’d definitely come back. The staff were super friendly and helpful, and it’s a short walk to the long beaches and not far from local amenities. The balcony views are amazing. Rooms were clean, quiet, well equipped, and air conditioned. Breakfast had a good range, with nice coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice, though I missed having sausage.
