Casa Sandor El Cotillo

I was very disappointed with the owner. After I got covid before the stay, I contacted him, and he suggested in writing that I cancel at the full price and he would refund the dates if the apartment was rented again. I followed that arrangement. It was rented again, as Booking confirmed, but he blocked my number and refused to return any money. Booking also confirmed that he hadn't honored the written agreement in its app, which they said was fraud. I wish I'd known this would happen; I wouldn't have canceled and would have tried to give the stay to someone else. It seems he deliberately wanted to get paid twice. I don't consider him a man of honour, and wouldn't recommend staying here if a problem comes up, since he seems to look after his own advantage instead of helping.

I think the recent reviews are all by the same person, and that they're referring to our review on Booking. They mention guests having to leave partway through a stay for an emergency, which was us. We had a real emergency and a very difficult situation, and the hosts helped us a lot. Our booking was non-refundable, so we never expected a refund; it was our own decision to book that rate. The hosts didn't owe us anything, but they were very kind and helpful, and tried to rent the apartment again. We were lucky that it was rebooked so quickly and we got a refund for the days we had to leave early. With the cost of an earlier flight and other extra expenses, it meant we didn't also have to pay for the unused nights. We were grateful even for their attempt, whether it had worked or not. I'd gladly stay in this apartment again.

Everything was spotless and the location was really convenient, with free parking right outside. Great service too: our blender broke, and a brand-new one arrived the next morning. I'd recommend it 10/10!

We had a lovely apartment, comfortable and equipped with everything we needed. Cotillo is a charming town, and the place is ideally located near its beaches and restaurants. Highly recommended!
