The animals and spectacular views were the best parts, along with the friendly, welcoming guy who showed us around. Everything else was just about awful. The hostel is on a remote farm, reached by a very narrow road with a 45 degree slope. When we saw the kitchen, it looked filthy and unhygienic, and we didn't think we could eat breakfast there. The rooms above the stables smelled strongly of damp. There were no electrical outlets in our room to charge a phone, no door locks to protect our things, large patches where water had leaked through the roof, and mold. The shared bathrooms were dingy, with doors warped and askew from the damp. The guy who showed us around was extremely friendly and helpful, but the condition of the place wasn't his fault. We had booked one night after a long day, and I thought we'd just get through it and leave in the morning. But when my oldest son sincerely begged us to let him sleep in the car, without even complaining about the room, we decided to go. We drove all the way home tired and exhausted.
