Hostal Carme Pascual

I'm reviewing only the restaurant, since I didn't stay there. The Sunday menu is €15, which makes for good value. It's a very old place, kept clean and in good shape, though the decor looks as if it hasn't been updated in 35 years. The menu feels dated too, but the dishes are well cooked and made with good ingredients.

The girl was friendly the whole time, and she kindly changed our room. But the first one was full of spiders and clearly hadn't been checked or cleaned. The two other rooms she showed us had the same problem, with cobwebs everywhere. There was hair in the bathroom, the beds were uncomfortable, and everything looked dirty and uncared for. Being old and up in the mountains isn't an excuse for poor cleanliness or maintenance. I don't think this is somewhere you could spend even one pleasant night, and I wouldn't recommend it. The price was completely unjustified for what we got. I won't be back. I was originally booked to stay tonight.

The location shapes what's on offer. The people are helpful, though their approach is outside the usual standards of modern customer service. Maybe that's why the price is reasonable.

The location is okay, but the breakfast is very poor and the cleanliness could be better. The place feels dated, there's no Wi-Fi or cell service, and the service is a bit odd and doesn't inspire much confidence.
