La Coma

Breakfast had toast, fuet, cheese, tomatoes for making "pan con tomate," mini croissants, Magdalena's, and fruit juice. The coffee was very good, as was the homemade "fruits of the forest" jam. The woman serving us was friendly, which helped make up for some of the breakfast's downsides. There weren't enough plates set out for the buffet, so we had to keep asking for more. There's a bakery in front of the breakfast spot, the pizzeria next to auberg, so I don't understand why they didn't serve fresh baked goods. Maybe it was the cost. The rooms were small. One had two single beds and the other a double. We had to pay for both rooms upfront without seeing them first. Our room, No4, mushroom 🍄, had a badly cracked windowpane and looked onto a patio with no curtains. We had to close the wooden blinds to change, hoping no one could see us otherwise. The room was a little dirty, with cobwebs on the walls and ceiling. The towel instructions said to leave them in the bath, which we did on the first day, but they hadn't been changed when we got back that evening. We later found out you need to ask for fresh towels at breakfast. The shower was an odd setup, a very small bathtub with a basic shower head and mixer tap, but no thermostat. There was only one shampoo, so we bought more.

The rooms were modest but very clean, and the food was good. The staff were lovely and the hospitality was perfect. A really pleasant stay, recommended.

There's a free kitchen where you can cook whatever you like, and the rooms are quite good. A useful, inexpensive place to stay.
