The bar and restaurant had poor service and prices. They served us three gin and tonics before telling us that “copas” don’t come with tapas, even though a beer at half the price would qualify for one. Half the price? Yes, they charged us 7 euros each for the G&Ts, billed as “combinado especial.” I’d definitely avoid this bar and restaurant.

Lunch today was lovely: the tapas and meals were beautifully presented and perfectly cooked, and the service was excellent. That was a big improvement on yesterday, when we couldn’t get breakfast service at 10:30 and had to leave.

I came on my own for two nights and felt welcome from the moment I arrived. My room was spacious, clean, comfortable, and quiet, even though it was on the first floor at the front. The food was stunning and well priced. I loved the insalada alpujarra, and also had several tapas. The service has been fantastic. A really great stay at Hotel Nuevo Palas 😊 More travel at Instagram @instaweare

The room could use a little TLC, but it was clean and tidy. Good value, and breakfast was lovely. They had gluten-free bread for my husband, who has coeliac disease.

Juan and his Mum always give us such a lovely welcome when we come. Mónica and I have stayed here every time, and we love the warm family atmosphere.
