Cosmopol

The hotel is old-fashioned but sweet, and the breakfast could be better. For us, the beach location mattered most. We came after walking the hardest stretch we'd faced so far, Castro-Urdiales-Laredo, and a swim in the Atlantic was a big help after 36 km.

They let me into my room early, which was so nice, and the view from it was amazing. Everyone was kind and pointed me toward great spots in town for cake and coffee. The little bar had wonderful snacks and coffee too. I had a great visit and hope to come back someday.

The service was wonderful, both in the restaurant downstairs, where you can buy tea and coffee to take up to your room, and from the welcoming staff. The building is old but well kept, with ocean views. Still, sleep was very limited because you could hear the neighbors, street noise, and cars. There was no kettle with tea or coffee in the room, which was disappointing when you know guests have been walking all day on the Camino.

We ate dinner in the restaurant twice, and both the food and service were great. Breakfast had lots of options and was very good too. The hotel has a lovely 60s style, with pretty rooms and great views.
