Gran Marbella is, in my view, the finest hotel in Marbella. Its location puts you in the heart of the best area while still feeling private and peaceful. The design brings together classic Mediterranean elegance and modern luxury in a way that feels sophisticated but comfortable. The service is what really sets it apart: the staff are professional, attentive to small details, and seem to anticipate what guests need. Every interaction feels personal and thoughtful. The rooms, dining, facilities, and atmosphere all meet very high standards and are handled with care. This is more than somewhere to sleep, it shows what luxury hospitality in Marbella can be. For the best hotel experience in Marbella, Gran Marbella stands above the rest.

We spent five days at Gran Marbella Resort as a family with a teenage son who’s nearly an adult, and the refined, adults-oriented setting worked perfectly for us. From the start, the light-filled architecture gave the place a calm, understated elegance. Our two connecting rooms, including the studio, were exceptionally spacious and beautifully furnished, with views all the way to the sea. The materials were high quality, the furniture carefully chosen, and the minibar thoughtfully put together. Everything felt part of one clear design, with character and style rather than looking generic or overdone. What stood out most was the service. The whole team was attentive, professional, and naturally warm, whatever their department. We also appreciated the evening turn-down service, with the beds prepared for the night. It’s a classic bit of hospitality that’s become uncommon and made a real difference. Dinner was outstanding, with quality ingredients and careful execution. Breakfast had an exceptional range, and the staff were attentive without intruding. The fitness studio was another highlight, bright and motivating, with high-end machines that go well beyond the usual hotel gym. I live with coeliac disease, so eating away from home can be challenging even at top-tier hotels. Here I felt completely safe, thanks to the team’s care and reliability, and was able to truly relax. This hotel has its own character, consistent quality, and a clear sense of style. We’ll most certainly return.

The cold pools and the extra charge for the Beach Club stood out for the wrong reasons. The main pools were around 23-24°C and not heated, so most people seemed to lounge by them rather than swim. The Beach Club had a 27°C pool, but hotel guests had to pay €50 a day to use it. I didn't ask whether that was per person or per room, though I'm pretty sure I know the answer. We stayed 10 days in May at Gran Marbella Resort. The room itself was comfortable enough, but trucks regularly moved around below it at the hotel's delivery area, and there was a construction site across the street. At night, electric systems made noise, and an old phone kept beeping for no clear reason. Staff couldn't fix it. The food we tried from the bar and room service was below average, especially at dinner. The pasta was overcooked, and the mussels smelled so bad I left them untouched. Breakfast was ordinary too, with a limited fruit selection that barely changed from day to day. We got strawberries twice. The salty ham, sausages and mantego cheese were the best part, if your blood pressure can take it. Coffee had to be ordered each time, and it was very bitter, much worse than the Nespresso capsules I have at home. Service wasn't great. We got very little information on arrival and had to work things out ourselves. Staff didn't seem to know many hotel details, and if your Spanish is limited, they seemed to give up trying to understand you. The outdoor parking was nearly always full, and spaces on nearby streets were hard to find. The alternative was €30 for underground parking, an unbelievably high price for somewhere in a suburban district 10 km from downtown Marbella. The gardens around the pools were small, with just a few plants and trees. After staying in many five-star hotels in Spain, this one didn't feel like one. For a €500 room, I expected a memorable stay, good food and at least one heated pool. It felt overpriced for what was actually offered.

We only had two days here, but managed to enjoy quite a bit. It was lovely to use the beach club, which the hotel booked for us by email, and it came free for hotel guests. The place felt calm and quiet, just right for a bit of rest. The gardens are beautiful, and the hotel has a modern, thoughtful design. Breakfast was a real highlight: there was both a menu and a buffet, and we liked everything we tried. It was served outside in a lovely spot with a view. We had lunch there too, and enjoyed that as well. Staff were wonderful in the restaurant and lobby. Our room was cleaner than any I've had before, and the evening turndown came with a little chocolate on the pillow, a nice premium touch. We used several of the amenities during our short stay and came away very happy with our choice. A high-standard hotel for peace and relaxation, easy to recommend.

The daytime service at the two outdoor bars was the one letdown. Even when the hotel didn't seem full, I could be the only person at the bar and still wait more than 10 minutes. Reception and breakfast service were fine. Otherwise, it's a fantastic hotel with a very relaxed feel. The rooms are spacious, with a separate bath and shower. Breakfast has both menu and buffet options, and there was a good selection for lunch and during the day. We didn't eat dinner there.
