Alisios Canteras Hotel

The bed was comfortable and the room was fairly clean, and the staff were quite friendly. Being close to the beach is a plus. Still, the dated rooms need better upkeep, and the thin walls let in a lot of noise from other rooms and outside. Parking nearby is almost impossible. Breakfast was mediocre: the pastries were okay, but most mornings there wasn’t even yoghurt, and the coffee wasn’t freshly brewed.

Breakfast had lots to choose from, including alternative milks, and the room was clean, though the curtains were dirty. The hotel is very close to the promenade. I’d have liked a few more smiles from reception. The beach towel deposit is €10.

I booked for January because the rooms were advertised with balconies, but we were sent to a different hotel and told it had the same services. When we got there, we were told none of its rooms had balconies. Oddly, that hotel was still showing availability a week after we were moved.

The staff were very helpful and understanding, and the location is good. The walls are so thin that you can hear the neighbours and the street, and the Wi-Fi kept having problems. Breakfast was just about manageable. There’s no parking at the hotel, though you get a discount at a nearby car park.
