Boutique Hotel Cordial La Niña de Vegueta

The staff were friendly, and we really liked the neighborhood, especially its local bars, cafes and restaurants. Our room was pleasant, with only small issues: one floor tile was loose and the shower drained a bit slowly. It was on the street side, so there was some noise. We didn’t spend much time on the rooftop because it was windy and nobody else seemed to be up there.

The worst problem was in the dining area. A terrible smell from the kitchen made me physically ill, and when I looked in there, I saw rotten food left out and pans with decaying food on the stovetop. There was also a foul smell in our room from the toilet sewers. We asked for it to be cleaned, but the odor stayed. These problems made an already distressing stay especially disappointing and spoiled what should have been a joyful honeymoon. I hope management deals with them promptly so other guests don’t go through the same thing.

We asked for a quiet room and were placed beside the restaurant. Even once its guests had left at around 11 p.m., the staff continued making loud noises until 1 a.m. Other guests, whose rooms were farther from the restaurant than ours, complained too. In the end I went down and firmly asked the restaurant staff to show some basic respect for the hotel guests. We had a really negative stay. Treating guests this way is unacceptable, especially at these prices. Do yourself a favor and don’t book here.

A lovely base for exploring Las Palmas’ old town. The stay felt private and elegant, and the service was so personal that I felt at home.
