Breakfast was excellent, and reception were friendly, but there was a lot of confusion about what guests could use at the Santa Catalina across the way. One man said we could use it as a lounge for 15 euros, another said that was a mistake and there was no way to access the pool, then the first woman said the pool cost 45 euros a day. We went up for a nightcap, but for us it wasn't remotely worth that daily price. The Wi-Fi wasn't great either. We were lucky to have free 5G on our phones, otherwise we'd have spent evenings watching buffering circles, probably more interesting than Gran Canaria, sorry. The rooftop bar and breakfast restaurant are really thoughtfully designed, unlike the lobby and rooms. The lobby is bright and brash, with seats that keep you bolt upright like you're waiting for a bus. Our suite had a sitting room with a sofa that was just as uncomfortable, no window, and not even a picture to give the room something. It felt like sitting in a derelict building, and there was no space to sit around the bed. The coffee table in the lounge was so wobbly I didn't feel safe putting my laptop on it. A helpful receptionist checked every floor's tables, and it was fixed the next day, though still a bit wobbly. We never used it. If the lobby and rooms were brought up to the standard of the lovely rooftop bar and restaurant, while keeping the same price, this could be a great hotel.
